Acts of Apostles

What was the great commission of the Lord Jesus to His disciples? Matthew 28: 19 states: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” After the resurrection Christ spent time with the Apostles “appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking the things concerning the kingdom of God.” Acts 1:3 What amazing days those must have been! We see the results in the next chapter of Acts as Peter speaks of the sufferings of the Lord Jesus and a number of those present heard and believed. We find a key in Acts 2: 41-42. Seven steps listed that you will see in several places on this web site. Those that heard the word believed, they were added to the original group of 120 believers (seen in Acts 1), then they were to continue in “the Apostles’ teaching, the fellowship, the breaking of bread, and the prayers.” Simple yet profound!
The Churches of God in the Fellowship of God’s Son, seek to give effect to these principles in our structure and practice today. We plead with you to seek out the pattern of worship and service that reflects this focus. The Lord said, “God seeks worshippers to worship in Spirit and Truth”. That is our aim, to honor Him in this simplistic yet personally committed way.
